2021 Cuban National Series Final Game 5

Live Friday April 2nd, 2021 2pm EST Cuban National Series Final Game 5 via Cubadugout. Matanzas vs Granma in Cuban baseball playoff action live in HD.

The Granma Alazanes are on the bring of winning their third Cuban National Series title in five years. They took a commanding 3-1 series lead with a game 4 blowout. The Ponies ran away with the game winning 15-5 and gaining the momentum back in the series. The game was extended by a rain delay before being shortened by the mercy rule after 8 innings. Guillermo Garcia made the list of 34 young players that would have been eligible to sign with MLB but has seen limited playing time and success in the National Series, but Game 4 might have been his breakout. At the least he can point to it as his signature performance driving in six runs powered by two big home runs.

The Cocodrilos now have to crawl their way out of the swamp of a potential insurmountable series deficit. Matanzas will be in tough with Granma having received better pitching performances than expected and having Ace Lazaro Blanco available for his second start in either Game five or six. Joel Mojeno went six strong innings surrendering two runs for Granma in game 4. The Alazanes bullpen should be healthy for the rest of the series as well, with their starters going strong in each game.
