What happened in game three
Granma and Pinar del Río had split the first two games of the semifinal, Granma taking the opener 9–2 on 20 February and Pinar answering 13–3 the following day. Game three, on 23 February, went to Granma 12–1 — the second of three double-figure nights the Alazanes produced in this round.
The series was not a close one on the scoreboard. Five of its six games were decided by four runs or more, and Granma scored ten or more three times. Pinar del Río won games two and four; Granma won everything else and closed the semifinal out 13–3 on 27 February.
Where this sits in the 2021 postseason
The 60th Serie Nacional postseason ran for ten weeks because Covid postponements kept the four quarterfinal series out of step with one another. Granma came through Industriales in five games, then Pinar del Río in six, then beat defending champions Matanzas four games to two in the final on 4 April 2021.
