Watch Santiago vs Las Tunas Game 3 Live via Game Time Sport. The Avispas and Leñadores finally continued their playoff series on February 28th. Positive Covid-19 tests forced a month delay in between games 1 and 2 of the quarter final. It may have been worth the wate in this case. Game 2 was by far the best pitched game of the Cuban Playoffs so far. The other series have largely seen teams exchange blowouts. The 3-0 Las Tunas win saw Carlos Juan Viera spin 8.2 Innings of shoutout ball before 2 relievers closed the door.

Santiago de Cuba surprised many in cementing the number 4 seed in the Cuban playoffs. Expectations were not high for the Wasps entering 2020. Their success is due to their hitting .306 as a team. The Wasps collective 5.02 ERA points to their potential weakness, pitching. Their pitchers did throw the first shutout of these playoffs in Game 2. Veteran slugger Adilse Silva will be back. He missed game 2 because of a strange suspension for criticizing the food in the playoff bubble.

Las Tunas won their first championship just 2 years ago. This was one season after losing in the finals. Because of their slow start on the season they finished with the 5th seed. They are led by brothers Yosvani and Yordanis Alarcon both carrying big bats. The Leñadores 4.98 team era just barely outpaces the pitchers from Santiago. Their success was due to their .323 team average which was near the top of the league. Also because of Las Tunas’ 70 Home Runs which were by far the best in Cuba. They hit 10 more home runs than any other squad. Will they use the round tripper to make a trip to the semi-final?
