What happened in game five
Granma won game five 12–4 on 25 February to move within one win of the final. It was the third time in the series the Alazanes had scored in double figures, after a 9–2 opener and a 12–1 win in game three.
Pinar del Río had kept the semifinal alive with wins in games two (13–3) and four (5–3), but could not do it a third time. Granma finished the round two days later with a 13–3 win in game six, taking the series four games to two.
Where this sits in the 2021 postseason
Granma went on to beat Matanzas four games to two in the championship series, clinching 6–5 on 4 April 2021. It was the second Serie Nacional title in the province’s history, after their first in January 2017.
