It has been close to two years in the making but Oscar Colás will finally join the Chicago White Sox organization. Colás is signing for $2.7 million and moves into their upper tier of prospects. Originally dubbed the Cuban Ohtani, those comparisons have faded over time but I spoke with Sox Machine podcast about what people can expect.
I recently wrote about how tax implications could keep Colás in the Dominican for most of 2022. A number of sources have indicated the White Sox will bring him stateside this year. Keep on an eye on this development as it will indicate what their grander development plan is for the young outfielder.
I originally wrote about Oscar Colás in early 2021 as he looked to pivot from Cuba and Japan to the states.
